One needs not travel half round the world to the Holy Land to visit places where supposedly the biblical personages walked and lived. For one thing the places are questionably identified -- there is no exactness in identification. All that is available is generalization of location.
Secondly, the Holy Land is not holy; not in the sense, for example, in retracing the steps of Jesus. He is no longer there, He is not even on earth. He hasn't been here since his Ascension. He is in heaven. He is there with the same body he had on earth. Wars and time have since marred the land and have left only vague vestiges of past glory and "holiness."
Thirdly, one cannot go to the biblical personages in the Holy Land. Rather, one can only go to them to the Holy Land of heaven. But one cannot board a plane to go there; it takes a special flight, and not everyone has a ticket for that flight. Read for your devotions John chapter six.
It's best to sit at home to visit the personages introduced in the Bible. It's much more exact and doesn't cost any money. No travel is involved.
Thus move your rocking chair to the front porch; sit back and relax, and allow me to be your tour guide in visiting a few biblical places and personages. You'll enjoy the trip.
