In 1995 at the age of 25, I took advantage of a rare opportunity to turn my life around after having been trapped in a lifestyle of violence and crime for almost a decade. Follow me as I evade Texas law enforcement and a sheriff’s personal vendetta, get caught red handed by border agents with a duffel bag full of drugs, hop freight trains, and wander through a dark subculture of homelessness and addiction.

After a life on the run beat me into submission, I said my first sincere prayer in years. This led to a profound spiritual experience that inspired me to make a deep change within my heart and embrace a positive new way of life.
