Aurelius Ambrosius, known in English as Saint Ambrose was a bishop of Milan who became one of the most influential ecclesiastical figures in religious history. One of the four original doctors of the Church, St. Ambrose is the author of the incredible On the Mysteries.

St. Ambrose sets forth in his work the rites and meaning of the Sacrament and the Confirmation of the Holy Echarist.

The original text bears no date, and many scholars debate when it was created.
