A Tale of Two Brothers

This story is based on true happenings of a family in the Ohio farm country as they overcome numerous pitfalls during the depression of the thirties and the adversities of the Second World War. The story centers around Matt and Johnny, born seven years apart. Johnny acts as a protector and mentor during the thirties, but is forced to leave Matt to make his own way through the upheavals brought on by the war. Johnny becomes a Marine attached to the Second Marine Division as they fight their way across the Pacific with tragic results. The book is an outstanding read for middle and high school students and anyone who lived through this period. It has good humor, adventure, suspense and tragedy. It is definitely a page turner and grabs you from the first page on.
