Westward from Eire

Westward from Eire is a fictionalized account of the Martin family's emigration in the 1840's from Ireland and several other countries in Europe to the far shores of Lake Eire in Buffalo, NY. Shipwrecks, the Hunger in Eire, and the tumult of the newly created and expanding nations of Canada and the United States met these intrepid travelers on their journey. The winds of war swirled around them and the rough and tumble lives of immigrants honed them to the toughened steel of working class survivors.
