People in every corner of the world are fascinated with the concepts of disembodied spirits, demons, and possession. Yet, when a disembodied spirit comes forth to visit or speak, fascination is replaced either by disbelief or fear, along with an urgent desire for the spirit to leave. All too often, the disembodied spirit chooses to stay and attaches itself to the consciousness of the unsuspecting person. Once attached, the spirit seeks to influence or control the actions of its host, resulting in dramatic changes in behavioral patterns, personalities, emotional stability, and physical health. This raises the question of “Who is really in control of the human psyche at any given time?”
It is conservatively estimated that more than 50% of the population has one or multiple spirit attachments with them for most of their lives, and almost every person has at least one temporary attachment at some time during their life. Thus, after the common cold, spirit attachment is perhaps the most widespread of all forms of chronic soul discomfort or “dis-ease,” although it is rarely discussed in public forums.
Research over the past decade has identified a new category of spirit attachment which is easily overlooked by therapists and is essentially unknown to the general public. When experiencing emotional trauma, such as child abuse, a portion of the consciousness of a living person may fragment to another person, place or object. The fragmented soul literally becomes an emotional handicap to varying degrees, depending on the extent of the fragmentation. Moreover, if one of the fragments attaches to another person, the new host often feels as if they are being watched, controlled, or influenced by another—which is very likely true.
A “fragmented soul” or “fragmented spirit” refers to a person who has separated a portion or fragment of his or her spirit consciousness and has attached that fragment to another person, place or object. The fragmented soul is less than whole, thereby causing mental or emotional problems.
Fragmented Souls guides the reader through an examination of spirit attachment and fragmentation, describing how they impact the life, health, happiness, success, and even death of every individual from every social class, every occupation, and every religion. This book provides awareness and understanding. It also offers hope for those suffering soul afflictions by detailing the available spirit attachment and fragmentation therapies.
Fragmentation is closely related to spirit attachment, and its root causes are always linked to emotional trauma. Healing requires identification and recognition of the fragmented or attached condition and careful re-integration of the fragment within the full consciousness. The authors approach fragmentation therapy from three perspectives:
1. A fragmented soul which has released a portion of its consciousness to a remote place or object. For the fragment, the remote place or object represents a safe haven from the traumatic event or similar future trauma. Rape, physical abuse, and child sexual abuse are common traumas initiating this type of fragmentation to a safe haven.
2. A fragmented soul which has attached a portion of its consciousness to another individual. This type of fragmentation condition typically occurs from an obsessive fear of separation from a loved one, such as a mother’s fear of losing her child through adoption, or the child’s reaction to losing its mother.
3. A person who receives an attached fragment from a fragmented soul. Unlike the preceding two fragmentation conditions which leave the fragmented client in a handicapped state, this condition focuses on a client who has become the unwitting host to a fragment of someone else’s soul. This may leave the host with the feeling of being watched or influenced by another. An example is a mother who attaches a fragment of her soul to her child as she gives him for adoption. The child carries the burden of the mother’s attached fragment throughout its life, constantly being influenced by the mother’s fragment.
It is the objective of the authors to enlighten the reader about the potentials and realities of spirit attachment and soul fragmentation, as well as their influence and control of otherwise healthy individuals. Through the carefully selected actual case histories, the reader may recognize that someone they know has, at some time in their life, experienced and been influenced by a spirit attachment or has experienced fragmentation conditions. Armed with an understanding of the available therapies, the reader will be empowered to seek assistance and healing for themselves, friends or family.
