*Illustrated with over a dozen pictures of Bulfinch, Charlemagne, King Arthur, and mythological characters.
*Includes a Table of Contents with links to every chapter, story, and glossary.
Thomas Bulfinch (July 15, 1796 - May 27, 1867) might never be as well known as his famous father, Charles Bulfinch, who was the architect of the Massachusetts State House and also worked on the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C. However, Bulfinch was successful in his own right, working at a bank while also spending time writing.
Bulfinch reorganized Psalms to create a history of the Hebrews, but he is best known for Bulfinch’s Mythology, which is comprised of The Age of Fable, The Age of Chivalry, and Legends of Charlemagne. Relying on writers like Ovid and Virgil, Bulfinch’s motive was to make mythology more popular. In that, he succeeded, as his works are still popular more than 150 years after they debuted.
This edition of Bulfinch’s The Age of Fable is specially formatted with a Table of Contents and is illustrated with over a dozen pictures of Bulfinch and mythological characters.
