"Endless Curves" is the story of racecar driver Christopher Byrd and his relentless climb to the pinnacle of auto racing, the Indianapolis 500. With the support his long-suffering friend and team manager Rick Taylor, Byrd ruthlessly overcomes all obstacles that get in his way. Throughout the story, readers will meet a colorful cast of crew members, wealthy customers and eccentric competitors that both help and hinder the boy's progress. The greatest obstacles any racer faces are two "lacks"-the lack of time, and the lack of money. While Christopher deals with time-and the stopwatch-on the racetrack, Rick deals with the lack of time in the shop and the pits by working endless nights and weekends to be ready for the next race. With the issue of time handled, the boys turn their attention to the issue of money, only to find that being a great racer is not necessarily a recipe for success when it comes to finding a sponsor. Desperate, the two young men hatch a crazy scheme involving cell phones, two beautiful and mercenary strippers and a none too subtle form of blackmail for attracting the sponsorship money they so desperately need to continue racing. Based largely on actual events, "Endless Curves" gives readers a humorous insight into what it takes to make it in big time auto racing.
