Lira is a Princess on the brink of becoming a young woman and soon fit to be a Queen in her own right. At last her people are at peace with the evil warlord from across The Boundary and a new era is at hand. Or so they all thought, until as all of Glendarra was celebrating peace at last, Suo-Gan invades the Palace and demands Lira be given to him as his Queen, and as dowry, the sacred talisman, the Rose of Glendarra!

Of course, King Farrell would never agree to such a cowardly act and the short lived period of peace is violently shattered that night. The King tells Lira to run for her life and to take the Rose with her as they battle the Horde soldiers within the very palace walls. For if it should fall into evil hands...all Glendarra would be lost forever...

Lira acts as she must and taking the Rose for safe keeping, one day to return it to its rightful place in the palace once more, she escapes into the night. Alone, running from the only home they have ever known, Lira and Kashi, a young orphan boy from the palace she has befriended, journey to keep the Rose out of Suo-gan’s hands.

Deep in the forest, Lira and Kashi encounter an old woodcutter who tells them of a legendary place of solitude and refuge many have long sung praises to in story and song. If only they could make it there, they and the Rose would be safe from Suo-Gan’s evil Horde. Feeling emboldened and without much choice, they journey to Whitecastle.

But Suo-Gan’s men do follow them and catch them in a vulnerable open part of the forest. But a lone Knight, traveling a solitary path, sees the travelers set upon by the more powerful military force. By his vow as a Knight, he cannot allow such injustice to happen and he intervenes, preventing the soldiers from capturing Lira and Kashi. Sir Gavilan, though skeptical of their quest, reluctantly agrees to escort the travelers to their journey’s end.

When they arrive at Whitecastle, a kindly caretaker figure welcomes them and they finally feel safe from Suo-Gan’s pursuit. Their earnest protector, Gavilan, his task completed, takes his leave of the two travelers and returns to his soulful sojourn. Gavilan feels inadequate in his heart, touched so deeply by the beautiful Lira. Kashi and Lira are devastated by Gavilan’s departure, so much a part of their presence he had become...as if he belonged with them always.

Time passes slowly and Lira decides she can no longer stay in Whitecastle. She realizes Whitecastle is not the place for her to remain and a vision of the talisman tells her to return to her rightful destiny. She must return to Glendarra, her homeland and her people, whatever the personal cost. She must return the Rose of Glendarra to it’s rightful place!

Lira and Kashi, along with Whitecastle’s caretaker, Mattea, journey back to Glendarra to free her people and save her father, still imprisoned by the evil warlord. When they arrive back at the Palace, Suo-Gan tries to imprison her along with her father. Wandering alone in the forest, the Rose of Glendarra calls out to the lone Knight, Gavilan. Lira and the others need his help. Unable to deny his feelings for the Princess and remembering his vow to protect her, he races to save them.

But it is Lira, along with the power of the Rose that frees her father and all Glendarrans from Suo-Gan’s tyranny. Lira finds the real power of the Rose within her own spirit and once again, all of Glendarra is free.
