Somewhere Near the Edge of the World: The California Stories

California can be seen through many lenses and, here, native New Orleanian Charlie Brown, who lived in Los Angeles for four years, focuses his on technology and underground cultures. These three stories, written in the year 2000, reflect the restlessness and unease of Generation X preparing for a new century. Stories include: "Dragon Blood," a tale of Afircan-American bikers in Oakland; and :The Stand-In" and "Corruptible," two stories of digital workers and their obsessions.
