HIV Prevention: Community Planning: An Orientation Guide

HIV Prevention Community Planning is a process in which people from different walks of life and different interests, responsibilities, and involvement in HIV prevention come together as a group to plan how to prevent HIV infection where they live.

The Guidance is sometimes called the “blueprint” of community planning. It contains the information you need to know about the community planning process.

The Guidance was developed by CDC in collaboration with CPGs, health departments, and other national partners. This collaboration reflects one of the guiding principles of community planning: working together.
