In PHORF (PE-horf) Uncle Charles home schools five plush toys to ready them for active duty as Best Plushy Friends. They soon learn how to become a good friend to each other as well as what love and loyalty mean to the boys and girls who may become their owners. They learn to cook, read, work and play on the computer, visit a nursing home, shop at a mall, and play in the snow. When it is time for them to leave their safe homes for new careers they wonder if they are ready.
