Love, Betrayal and Destiny is a 34-page short story written to the reader and for the reader. Spanning the Atlantic Ocean, Ann and her mother sail from England to America. As immigrant passengers with little money, Ann and her mother are considered disposable baggage. Crammed into steerage, the ocean journey presents unforseen challenges. But Ann and her mother have committed themselves to laboring in a food kitchen. Processed through Ellis Island, Ann and her mother suffer multiple indignities. But the moment Ann arrives at the food kitchen, she's overwhelmed by the love she feels for the food kitchen's proprietor.
