National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey: 2006 Emergency Department Summary

The National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NHAMCS) was inaugurated in 1992 to gather, analyze, and disseminate information about the health care provided by hospital emergency departments (ED) and outpatient departments (OPD). NHAMCS is part of the ambulatory component of the National Health Care Surveys, a family of surveys that measures health care utilization across various types of providers.
