Awakening from a medically induced coma, Daniel Lewis is obsessed with his Primary Care Nurse, Sonya Knight. Daniel now faces the reality that his wife and daughter perished in a vehicle fire. To complicate matters, what he had once looked at in the mirror while shaving, will never again look back at him. Now literally without the distinction of a normal face, he is to be fitted with an assortment of prosthetic devices. He knows that even the Florence Nightingale of the burn center, nurse Sonya Knight, would want nothing to do with someone looking like him. Daniel locks himself away in his penthouse. He starts to hear the voice of Sonya's deceased husband, Detective David Knight. In the beginning he believes it is his guilt, the wanton lusting of Sonya Knight, that is causing the hallucinations. While on a trip to New York, Sonya had an affair with Tony Chamino, head of the Chamino crime Syndicate. Chamino obsessed with Sonya's beauty, murdered Detective Knight. Now Detective Knight urges Daniel, with his expertise in computer hacking, to delete all of Chamino's and the Syndicates bank accounts. Not being able to do it himself, Daniel leads the Chamino Syndicate straight to him. He is taken aboard a yacht and ordered to get all of the Syndicates money back, with a hefty vig.. With the threat of blowtorches being used on Sonya. Knowing the pain of being badly burned, Daniel returns the hundreds of millions. Sonya knows that her husband was murdered, and now her start patient, whom she has strong feelings for, is about to be murdered, all because of her beauty. In a locked bathroom, Sonya scrapes her beauty away with a stainless steel scouring pad. When mysterious things begin happening on the yacht, the crew preferring the company of sharks to poltergeist, jump overboard. While holding a flaming blowtorch to Sonya's scarred face, the torch mysteriously presses against Chamino's chest. Chamino's is defiant as the flames engulf him, melting him into the fiberglass hull. Now, beauty no longer being an issue, Daniel and Sonya take the tethered sailboat and head east into the rising sun.
