"There once was a man who found love in a Flutist, but found it too late."
So begins nearly thirty years of attempted poetry. Starting at age eighteen, the author wrote poems inspired by the emotions of being alone. A shy young man, he was never courageous enough to share his emotions with those he adored. Unable to express himself in any other way, he wrote. Poems from this time in his life are filled with the longing for someone he wasn't able to find.
That all changed at age twenty-seven, when he met his future wife. His writing lost the sadness of being alone, and gained the happiness and joy of acceptance and love. Now married for almost twenty years, his poetry continues to express his love for his wife, and the happiness of life with her.
This book contains poems written over twenty-nine years. They include poems of hope, and of despair. Poems of joy, and of sorrow. Some show the heartache of separation. Some show insight into the joys of being in love. Some even show a warped sense of humor. Each shows a small glimpse into the soul of the author.
Poetry does not speak to everyone. Some can't hear it, others don't understand its language. These poems were written in a language the author heard and understood. No one is to blame if the reader is unable to hear and understand them too.
