Traits that built African American Women Leaders in the Area of Governance in South Carolina

Despite the tragedy of the past, a few African American women have managed to obtain positions of leadership. This paper will analyze, evaluate, compare and contrast the historical theories of transformational, transactional, and servant leadership by Burns, Bass, Riggio, House, and Greenleaf that perhaps contributed to their success.
