Fly Like Hawk

Young Chance McGill knows three things: he’s fat, he’s unwanted, and life isn’t fair. After all, his father just walked out on his 8th birthday, forcing his mother to drag him to a remote desert town to start over, far from the few friends he did have. However, a fresh start and making new friends could be what the introverted boy needs most.

Enter classmate Hawk Glidewell: a stealthy, precocious bully who preys upon Chance’s insecurities for sport from the moment he arrives at his new school. Everyone seems to love the athletic and charming teachers’ pet, enabling him to fly under the radar and tease Chance relentlessly, year after year.

All Chance wants is to be friends, but he only makes things worse the harder he tries. All Hawk wants is for him to fight back -- the one thing Chance doesn't know how to do.
