Songs from Lattys Grove

In hindsight, maybe I shouldn't have paid attention to the sounds of the night. Certainly life would have been more restful and peaceful had I ignored them. Of course, giving up sleep to pry into the affairs of others may not have been nice - or smart - but it was kind of fun.

Why me? Why was I chosen to hear intimate details of some Lattys Grove residents? While boyhood adventures of Marty were interesting and often humorous, learning the events that led to Galen's suicide were painful; and Big Ed's journey to Hell was downright scary especially when I never believed in such a place. Most disturbing was discovering the murderous activities of a nerdy, loner called Gert. Hope he doesn't know about me.

What I originally thought was an innocent (though voyeuristic) look into the others' lives turned out to be more than I bargained for.
