Kidnapping of the President

This is a story of a divorced middle-aged writer/astonaut/governmental employee who meets the love of a lifetime. However, amid the romance, tragedy strikes in all directions during a period covering 1989 to 1991, and in a desperate effort to convince a new president about the value of the civilian manned space program, he and a cohart kidnap the leader and sneak him aboard a space shuttle mission.
