El Morocco

This was the era of the Rat Pack, when comedy was controlled by organized crime. Insult comic Guy Roman becomes the target of a psychotic gangster who hijacks Roman's act then one night in Atlantic City almost hijacks his life. The gangster shuts down Roman's career from coast to coast and leaves him paired with a mysterious victim, a blonde showgirl somehow linked to the biggest diamond heist in Manhattan. When Roman hits 1960 Hollywood he becomes the new king of comedy to take on the gangster, the L.A. mob, an LAPD dragnet, and half of the perverts in Hollywood. Guy has to survive both a mob war and a blood-spattered romance.
