So much has changed in the world of dating since the days of a caveman clubbing his chosen woman over the head and dragging her back to the cave by her hair. As barbaric as that may sound,you must remember that each era of time had its own dating rituals. However,the cavemen era seems to have set the stage for at least a part of the way mating rituals and relationships were viewed. The cavewomen did everything when it came to taking care of their men,whether they wanted to or not. That mindset seems to still be around in certain cultures and cults even today.
As time went on,the rituals of dating and courtship changed,almost imperceptibly with each era. In some places,there actually was NO dating or courtship. Arranged marriages happened all the time for reasons of finances,power or both. A lot of these marriages occurred without the couple even meeting until shortly before the ceremony. In those situations,you were either happy or not,but there would be no divorce. Therefore,you were stuck with your lot in life.
