Poems and Fables

Domenico Tempio is not well known even to specialists in Italian lierature, in spite of the fact that he was one of the two most important poets in Sicily in the 18th century. He continues to enjoy wide popularity in Sicily and especially in Catania where his poetry is still memorized. Though he is known for his raunchy eroticism, he was really a rebellious social reformer, an enlightened poet.
