If we are truly living in the Age of the Spirit, what should we make of the dire predictions for calamity in 2012?

Are we at the dawn of a new era, or are we already in The Age of The Spirit, but have not consciously acknowledged it yet?

While a new Millennia has begun, our awareness of its possibilities and potentials lag far behind. There are signs of how the old consciousness is breaking up and there are observable cultural cracks and fissures of ferment displaying our cultural disillusionment. There is a deep sense of exhaustion and unrest that declares that the old ways of thinking, relating, and believing no longer work for us. The status quo in religion no longer holds or retains the capacity to inspire us towards needed growth and necessary transformation.

Our cultural fears and modern uncertainty can be reinforced by our religious outlooks. If our faith stance seeks to preserve control, then it will also will vehemently resist all the cultural changes that are necessary to encourage the ecological and ethical renewal our planet and our society needs. It is a Spirit centered approach that will encourage our individual understanding and that can create our cultural renewal. From our greater and deeper understanding of an expansive and inclusive Holy Spirit, we can receive the energies and awareness that will guide our personal and social transformation.

Spirit, Time, and The Future draws widely from a multitude of sources; from theology (pneumatology) to various contemporary Biblical studies, from scientific explorations to metaphysical theories. The scope is intentionally broad to enable readers to develop a greater sense of hope.

Lanzillotta seeks to ground us in a a more openhearted outlook. He outlines the many expansive possibilities by drawing from both traditional and dissenting theological ideas such as feminist Biblical criticism and Jungian psychology etc., which can allow the reader to gain access to his thinking from many viewpoints.

This author’s viewpoint will challenge many areas of our current religious and cultural mindset. His book will certainly differ from the status quo in church teachings and practices today. His personal insights have come from over twenty five years of metaphysical and theological study. From his more expansive and inclusive perspective, we can develop our greater awareness of how Spirit can function in our larger society and how Her presence operates graciously in our lives.
