Church translates Homer with Homer's artless simplicity, and with no attempt of embellishment of his own and
has given the story (The Odyssey) in simple language, treating it so skilfully that it loses no interest in his hands.

This volume is intended for young people, and therefore while the author has produced the Homeric narratives with simplicity and an accurate study of the general features, he has apparently not deemed it necessary to follow all the peculiarities of Homer's language.
