Amanda Fuller has big plans of becoming an investigative journalist. After college she learns that wanting the great job and getting the great job are two very different things. She returns to Arrowhead, the small Southern Oregon town where she grew up. She gets a job at the local talk radio station producing a call-in show that showcases the quirky, sometimes hilarious nature of this remote community. Amanda is waiting until she can move away and find a life and a real career, but everything changes when a dead body is found on the side of the highway and she finds herself investigating a serious crime in the least likely place, her hometown. Through the investigation, she discovers a lucrative, international smuggling operation involving Arrowhead’s most influential citizen. Rachael discovers her brother has stumbled into the radar of the smugglers and their hired thugs. Rachael must solve the mystery and save her brother’s life. Along the way she finds help from unusual allies and discovers that all the people with choices haven’t left Arrowhead. Rachael’s best help comes from her family that is firmly rooted in Arrowhead and will never leave. She also finds what might be love in the form of Carter Bradley, the object of her unrequited high school affection, who has come back home as well. Arrowhead is a place where people don’t lock their doors, but Amanda Fuller finds the nice hometown is a perfect place for crime, corruption and even murder.
