The Life of Agricola by Tacitus

THE LIFE OF AGRICOLA recounts the life of Gnaeus Julius Agricola, a Roman officer who participated in the suppression of Boudica's rebellion in Britain (61 A.D.) under Suetonius' command. Agricola later became Roman governor of Britain and invaded Caledonia (Scotland). He may have also overseen a Roman expedition to Ireland, although this is uncertain. Tacitus' LIFE gives invaluable insight into the geography and geography and ethnography of ancient Britain. Agricola was the father-in-law of Tacitus.
