Patrick Flanagan was a third-generation New York Cop. His younger brother, Brian, wanted to be a lawyer so joined the Navy’s Reserve Officer Training Program which also paid most of his college expenses. Two years after he received his commission the Navy sent him to law school and Brian became a Navy JAG lawyer.
Two weeks before Patrick, the older brother, was scheduled to retire, his throat was cut by an escaping hold-up thug; he died soon afterward in the hospital. Brian, his younger brother, was advised to allow the police to handle it. “No one kills one of New York’s Finest and gets away with it!”
A year went by, then two, then five and Patrick’s killer was still on the loose. Brian decided he had waited too long, retired from the Navy and started his own search. Could he solve the cold case when New York’s Finest couldn’t solve it when it was still warm?
