Penrod by Booth Tarkington

PENROD is a collection of humorous misadventures of Penrod Schofield, an eleven-year-old boy growing up in the pre-World War I Midwestern United States, in a similar vein to Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn. Told from Penrod's point-of-view, his adventures highlight the life of a middle-class boy and his views of the changing world around him.
