PENROD AND SAM is a collection of humorous misadventures of Penrod Schofield and his best friend Sam Williams, two young boys growing up in the pre-World War I Midwestern United States, in a similar vein to TOM SAWYER and HUCKLEBERRY FINN. Told from Penrod's point-of-view, his adventures highlight the life of a middle-class boy and his views of the changing world around him.
