Chicken & Me

"Chicken & Me" is a short story set in the rural southern meighborhood during the 60's.This story recounts an overly active, free spirited little girl who had a bad habit of sneaking into the chicken yard where she delighted herself by lying on an old broken down car getting a belly full of figs. Unfortunately her Granddaddy's chickens would often escape from their pen. For every action there is a reaction. This is one of many childhood experiences of young Mott, a bright, inquisitive and imaginative little girl growing up among the older and colorful members of a small close-knit southern community. Raise by her grandparents whose love, wisdom, and anecdotes taught her grand lessons that kept her grounded. Little Mott narrates each story with an urgent and an innocence that is certain to warm your heart and evoke fond memories of childhood.
