Democracy: An American Novel by Henry Adams

DEMOCRACY is a political novel by Henry Adams. Set in the latter part of the 19th century, the story follows the fictional acquisition of power, its use, and its abuse by a presidential candidate. Adams wrote the novel following the scandals of the second U.S. Grant administration (1873-1877).
