Tweaking Fate

A young man, Lee, on his way home to reclaim a special relationship, suffers a fatal accident. His sudden death denies him the opportunity to reunite with the beautiful young woman he abandoned years earlier. In the hereafter, he pleads with God to change the circumstances of his death so that he might show this young woman that he has changed and is now worthy of her love.
At first, God denies the young man's request, telling him that life is a matter of fate. However, God later reconsiders and offers Lee a deal, a chance to avoid the accident that took his life. God agrees to add three seconds to his time on earth; just enough to eliminate Lee's tragic ending.
In exchange, God asks Lee's spirit to return to the physical world, a world that exists in a parallel dimension. Here Lee must complete a special mission - one that will forever change the course of many lives. If he succeeds, God will allow Lee to return to his former life immediately prior his accident, with just enough time to alter chance and continue on his journey.
The mission God asks of Lee is both challenging and complex. Lee's spirit must enter a parallel universe to find a demented old man whose life has been a tragic failure. Lee interacts with the inhabitants of this other world… and comes face to face with himself.
