New Lives For Old

We, the two authors of this book, drew upon our respective strong roots in New England, on the West Coast, and in Virginia, and as a result of our experiences, we were able to describe in detail careers in the fields of education and national intelligence.

In each case, family responsibilities caused a focus in our planning upon the opportunity to develop a new life for ourselves in a life care community. As neighbors at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury, we developed a relationship that helped us through the loss of our respective spouses. That relationship blossomed further through closely working together in music and other activities in the community. Marriage followed an exchange of conversation and warmth that fostered a whole new dimension in our lives. Strengthening of that relationship has come over the past four years through the publishing of two books and overcoming of physical set-backs.
