Accidental Dick

After the sudden death of the President of the United States, White House Press Secretary Frankie Marchitello returns home to New Orleans to pick up the pieces of his shattered life. When he agrees to write an authorized biography of the late president, Frankie begins to suspect that the president’s death might not be from natural causes.
Soon, Frankie’s list of suspects includes some of the most powerful, wealthy, and important people in the world – including: the new President; the widowed former First Lady; her glamorous jet-setting best friend and her husband, a mega-wealthy international oil industrialist; and the powerful senior United States Senator from Louisiana.
Navigating an unfamiliar world of elite privilege, Frankie finds himself falling hopelessly in love with the aristocratic Mercer Channing, whose husband had the most to gain from the President’s death. Frankie enlists his two brothers – one an NOPD detective and the other a Catholic priest – in the investigation, finding he has put his family in mortal danger.
When those associated with the late president’s autopsy are killed, respectively, in a fiery car crash, by an IED in Afghanistan, and in terrorist attack on a cruise ship at the mouth of the Mississippi River, Frankie realizes that the President’s killers have the means to eliminate anyone who gets in their way anywhere in the world.
Unable to trust anyone, Frankie has to confront his own demons. One of which is getting to the bottom of the late president’s death before the new president draws the U.S. into a costly war in Iran so he and his buddies can control the Middle East’s precious oil and become rich and powerful beyond belief.
