Carrigan's Responsibility

Vincent Carrigan is a CIA operative who came into intelligence work as a young man in the earliest days of its OSS existence. In Carrigan's Responsibility, we find him living and operating in the Washington, D.C area. He is a low-key, covert operative whose personal life as a suburbanite husband and father appears in odd juxtaposition to his "nether" work, an overlapping of "life and art." He sees no contradiction in this kind of life separation of "church and state." As a covert operative and trouble-shooter within the Agency, he weighs facts and people, then acts accordingly, no regrets. Carrigan's Responsibility involves CIA operatives hired in the early days of the Agency's inception. Now, years later, Carrigan's Responsibility is the story of how inextricably intertwined four peoples' lives have become with each others' and the Agency itself, an organization they have served so long. Vince Carrigan is a "company survivor" who must take responsibility for seeing that the Agency is not harmed, compromised or betrayed by old, unresolved relationships.
