A Rainbow for Christmas

Always enthralled by American history, Monti was intrigued with how the West was settled by brave men and women who endured countless hardships as they traveled across the country to unknown destinations. A few years ago, she discovered a house in Arizona built in 1930 that was considered "historic". Back home in Virginia, a house built in the early 20th Century would be considered almost new. Many of the historic places she toured in Arizona and Colorado were from the late 1800s. As she visited mining communities and other places in the West, she decided to write a story based on the journey of a young woman driving a covered wagon on her way to settle in the rugged western town of Denver. Thus, A Rainbow for Christmas was born.
