The Dangerous Element

With a sullied reputation and a bleak future, Shaker Heights, Ohio Police Chief Maureen ‘Mo’ Harrigan accepts the offer to become the first female Police Chief in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Embracing the challenge of a new beginning, she hopes the change in venue will allow her to salvage a once promising career while staying close to her youngest son who has enrolled in the local university. Optimism and hope quickly turn to lingering self-doubt when the retiring Austrian President and his American counterpart decide to attend the annual Viennese Ball being held at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. As the event draws near and homeless men start turning up dead, Harrigan discovers her real fear is not about her ability to protect and serve, but that the deaths are somehow linked to the presidents.

The arrival of the two presidents not only brings the eyes of the world on Eau Claire and Mo, but the eyes of a killer as well. The heads of state have become unwitting targets for a former British operative who has taken his personal conflict with an old colleague to a global stage. The road to revenge runs through Eau Claire and directly in the way are Mo and a co-ed whose identity, if revealed, could destroy the only man who can stop the assassin.
