Silent Tears

Raised near New Orleans as one of six children, Dorothy Newton was surrounded by abuse while living in poverty, but despite her upbringing, was destined for victory. Earning a degree in Sociology and Business, the first in her family to graduate from college, Dorothy found herself living her dreams in Dallas and married to celebrity Super Bowl Champion, Nate Newton, who was a former American football offensive lineman in the National Football League who played for the Dallas Cowboys and the Carolina Panthers – but all that glittered was not gold.

Before long the relationship turned abusive and Dorothy was trapped with no one to tell and nowhere to run. In Silent Tears, Dorothy shares her experiences of domestic violence and abuse, pain, loss, survival, hope, recovery, and victory. An inspirational speaker and Bible Study leader, Dorothy is involved in several charities and is the Practice Administrator for a major healthcare organization where she is pursuing her M.B.A. Dorothy is the proud mother of Nathaniel Newton III (Tré) and Nate King Newton. She is living a life filled with purpose and joy, passionate to see others walk in freedom and forgiveness.
