The art fair and festival scene is a romantic notion of expensive paintings and non-stop fun for some fair-goers as well as artists. For others it is a universe of frustration, angst, and a business that requires the wearing of many hats, not just a beret. This collection of essays began as an exercise on some internet forums for artists, graduated to some blog posts, and then a rather successful foray into self-publishing. This e-book version adds 5 writings not available on the paperback version that featured 15 essays with illustrations.
Some of the essays move into non-art related issues in the strictest context, but since the author insists most of life itself is art - these little ventures are into the human experience are as logical in the written word as they are in the paintings themselves.
The tone ranges from sarcastic to admonishment to calling out the ridiculous. They are meant to encourage dialogue and debate by virtue of the passion of the words on the page equalled only by the passion of the brush on the canvas.
