Do you know your family tree?
Is there alcoholism,smoking,complusive overeating,gambling,mental illness?
Promise - I will try to balance this important topic with some humor to keep what I'm communicating readable and light as possible for a heavy matter.
For example -- Lincoln was in a debate and accused of being two faced. He said "If I had another face do you think I would wear this one?"
Karl Menninger said and I paraphrase "Addictions are a pitiful attempt at self-medication."
If your family has a history of this trouble -- wouldn't it be best if your children knew they were at risk early?
I believe everyone does their best, but doing my best just about killed me at an early age. But this book isn't about me. It's about addictions and that relationship with family trees and enviornment and peers. Put those three together and disaster is on the way.
I don't believe in trying to scare people or in giving advice. In fact I think the worst vice is advice.
I haven't any answers, just some respectful questions that may help you find some solutions for you and yours if your interested?
My hope is the book will bring out some of the better angels of your nature -- it has mine.
Thanks for your interest.
