Alexander Hamilton Vinton was the Protestant Episcopal bishop of Western Massachusetts and the the first bishop of the diocese there, serving from 1902 to 1911. Decades earlier, Reverend Vinton delivered a quick address to the state government of Massachusetts in its statehouse to discuss the ties between effective and moral civil governance and religion.
