The Land Children

Wars start for any number of reasons-domination-greed-jealousy are just a few of them. It is the innocent, the unprotected, the children who suffer the most. In England in 1940, the children of the major cities, ports and coastal areas were sent away for their safety. This is the story of four such children Anna Rose Holkar Russell, Elizabeth Brown, Jimmy MacDonald and Davey Evans who were evacuated together to Yorkshire. Where they came from and how they got there in spite of the wars raging around them is the essence of this story which begins in 1935.
