Chuck and Micki Harding are passionate about seemingly unrelated pursuits: in-depth Bible study and sailing. While leading Bible study in Michigan for a number of years, they “escaped ministry” through summer sailing vacations in the Caribbean. Or so they thought. This is the true story of how God married the Hardings’ two passions by calling them to pioneer Community Bible Study International (CBSI) in the Eastern Caribbean while living aboard their sailing vessel coram Deo.
In mid-2000, as their flight departed for Tortola, British Virgin Islands, where they would move aboard their boat and begin their mission, Micki turned to Chuck, saying, “What have we done? We’ve told all these people. What if God doesn’t do anything?” God’s faithfulness to this calling led Antiguan Ted Martin, soon to become the first CBSI Teaching Leader in the Caribbean, to exclaim, “Isn’t dat jus like dah Fada!”
