The Majestic Crane takes its name from this classic Japanese tale "The Crane Maiden" or "Crane Wife," and, in turn, recounts the experiences and encounters a young African American girl has with Asian culture occurring over the span of four decades, 1971, 1981, 1991, and 2002.
