When You Need a Friend

Usually when Samantha hears the words, "I'm pregnant," she pulls out a tissue box, sits her teammate down, and works damage control. Not Madison. Not when she practically jumps Sam with celebratory hugs, good cheers, and not a hint of hysteria in sight - which considering the whole softball scholarship on the line and dropping out of college, usually requires some hysterics.

Stuck between being a supportive friend and a friend who provides some semblance of sense and reason, Madison wrangles Sam into her first prenatal appointment. But as Sam waits in the lobby, torn on what to do, she finds wisdom - and perhaps a friend - where she least expects it: a male nurse whose been down the same road as Sam.
