The Woman Outlaw (La Briganta)

The story of Margerita, a young woman of the Sicilian upper class in the 1860s, begins with a tragic gesture that causes the utter dislocation of her life, but also fosters a sort of rebirth. Bound by an arranged marriato a man who can onluy imagine a wife as submissive and ignorant, she ends up killing him. She flees becoming an outlaw.
