MY BONDAGE AND MY FREEDOM is a memoir and anti-slavery work written by former slave Frederick Douglass. The work is among the most highly regarded slave narratives written during the mid-19th century. When published in 1855, the work was extremely influential for the abolition movement and helped cement Douglass' reputation as a writer and orator.
