The Chaos Cascade

A century into our future the world is unrecognizable. A terrible event reshaped the face of the Earth, and the ensuing war forced the reemergence of a long forgotten ally to mankind: Wizards. Millennia ago Wizards lived among Humans as their protectors against the Sheraz - Chaos Magicians that harness destructive power in opposition to all balance in the universe. A great war ended the struggle against the Sheraz, banishing them permanently, and therefore the Wizards and their kind withdrew from involvement with the Humans. And as the years passed the Wizards gradually removed themselves from Human memory.
Unfortunately none were prepared for the devastating return of the Sheraz. The simultaneous attack of every major city worldwide crippled the Human’s base of power and forced the Wizards to involve themselves in yet another war against their eternal enemies.
Years after the war Wizard Citadels, centers for training of young Wizards, have been protectively spread across the fragmented Human continents. These Citadels are erected in each region in an effort to preemptively safeguard the Humans should the Sheraz strike again.
Unprecedented events unfold as two teenage Human boys find out they have the potential to access Magic, something that is unfailingly determined at birth, and are taken to the Western Citadel for training. As they study, however, secrets that will alter the future of both races are uncovered. The confidence of the Wizard People is shaken when two of their eldest and most venerated Masters are kidnapped sparking a race against time and leading the boys and their Masters on a journey into the machinations at the very heart of the Wizard Kingdom!
