The Life of Galba

THE LIFE OF GALBA is one of the most important ancient sources of history for the early Imperial period, as well as the life of Roman Emperor Galba. Servius Sulpicius Galba Caesar Augustus (3 BC - 69 AD) was emperor of Rome for seven months (68-69) following the death of Nero in 68 AD in the Year of the Four Emperors. Galba was governor of Hispania Tarraconensis when news of Nero's death reached him; he seized power and proved an unpopular ruler. Galba was assassinated and replaced by Otho.
